Care Providers wanted in Holyoke

Care Providers Wanted in Holyoke

Pathlight is actively seeking a Spanish-speaking couple or family to share their home with a 76 year old woman named, “C.”

C. has been living at Day Brook Rehab since September of 2020, but is ready to move into a different home setting. As she has a close relationship with her niece, our priority is to find a future home in or near Holyoke so their visits with each other can continue.   In the past, C. was able to ambulate with a walker; however, she is now dependent on a wheelchair and others to get around. We are looking for care providers who are willing and able to help C. with personal care (transfers, bathing, etc.), and whose home is wheelchair accessible in order to meet C.’s needs. The home should have a first floor bedroom and bathroom, be large enough to allow the navigation of her wheelchair, and will need a ramp at the entranceway - unless the door is flush with the ground.

C. has been described as pleasant and cooperative. At the rehab, she has enjoyed participating in the 1 on 1 activities offered. She finds joy in various types of crafting, small sticker puzzles, and stuffed animals. C. also loves watching the Spanish station on TV.

Care providers would receive an annual and generous tax-free stipend, as well as training, case management supports, and respite. Ideal candidates would have skills in working with individuals with developmental disabilities (though not required), be able to establish clear and consistent routines, set reasonable limits, and provide structure. An open heart, reliability, maturity, and flexibility are required.

If interested email FamilyBasedLiving@PathlightGroup.org, or visit https://www.pathlightgroup.org/programs-and-services/shared-living/  and fill out a Shared Living Interest form.

Not a good fit for you, but know someone who might be interested? Please pass this posting along to them! The perfect home for C. is out there somewhere, and the more people who share and spread the word about this opportunity, the sooner we will find the couple or family that is a match.
