About Autism Connections

We have a long and respected history as the autism experts in western Massachusetts and that’s not going to change.

We will continue to ensure that people with autism and their families have the individualized support they need to understand autism, promote the well-being of people with autism, and foster inclusion within our community.

Autism Connections is a name that truly reflects all that we do. We connect parents to each other and to helpful professionals and schools with expert advice, and the community with autism awareness.

Most importantly, we connect people with autism with each other and with a host of resources to ensure that they have all the tools they need to live the life of their choosing.

We are all about connections, and our new name reflects that commitment. We help hundreds of families calling into the center; offer social skills trainings, support groups and intensive case management; organize family fun community events; and so much more.

With Autism Connections in your corner, you are not alone. You’ve got a community of understanding, respect and support right beside you.

History

Autism Connections was founded in 1989 by parents of children with autism. Their goal was to help families, schools, professionals, agencies, and communities understand autism, promote the well-being of individuals with autism and foster their inclusion within the local community.

Our goals continue to focus on helping individuals and families build on their strengths, work together to create a positive vision for the future, and help children learn, grow, and be welcomed, fully-included members of our communities.

Autism Connections is staffed by autism professionals and works closely with family members to provide a wide variety of services through our Autism Centers in Northampton, Easthampton and Pittsfield, as well as family and individual supports through referrals by the Department of Developmental Services.

We offer trainings, support groups, family activities and ongoing collaboration with local organizations. In addition, we provide direct services to families and people with autism, including educational advocacy, behavior supports and

Trainings for Professionals

Autism Connections is dedicated to educating the local community about the strengths and challenges commonly associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Our knowledgeable staff offers a variety of professional development opportunities to personnel in school systems and human service organizations.
